I am a network and security engineer first. My fractional CTO work connects the decisions about your technology to the work needed to make it reliable.
Leadership with an engineering background
I have 15 years in IT, including 10 at Sentinel Technologies and Presidio. I bring that hands-on approach to technology leadership for credit unions and small businesses.
I work through Third Level IT LLC, based at Michigan Central in Detroit. You work directly with me on the roadmap, the vendors and the agreed engineering work. On-site work across Metro Detroit and remote work are arranged around the engagement.
I keep a full lab environment in a Detroit datacenter, where I test changes before they reach your network.
How I approach the work
First, understand what is actually there. Then agree on the priorities, the responsibilities and what a useful result looks like. Make the change, test it and keep the record.
That means being clear about what is finished and what is still open. A plan is useful when someone can carry it through. A report is useful when it helps you make the next decision.
